Yes we love waffles, yes we love pancakes and yes we love Parry Gripp!
We saw it with our “Do You Like Waffles” YouTube hit, and now with “I’m A Gangsta”, one of those viral videos that become a part of the on-going shared experiences, beating the odds by living on for years after their initial rise to fame.
Rappy was introduced to Oglio via the radio host and blue music musicologist, Red Peters, and his Red Peters Comedy Music Hour radio show (and now podcast series).
In the scenario with “I’m A Gangsta”, the song is by Rappy McRapperson but it was mistakenly attributed to Josh Tobin, who posted the first video of himself lip-syncing to the track, spawning countless re-posts and imitations. Rappy eventually posted the official video some time later and now, like Parry Gripp’s “Do You Like Waffles”, there are thousands of fun fan created versions available. Rappy was crowd sourcing before there was a word for it, that’s how gangsta he is.

And as a bonus, from the label that brought you “…Waffles”, here is Rappy’s “Fish Sticks”
Rappy McRapperson is available at iTunes.
